This is Guillaume Henry’s second collection for Nina Ricci since his appointment in 2014 as the brand’s creative director. The Nina Ricci Spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection featured patent leather, ostrich skin apron dresses, miniskirts, and oversized jackets; leather wrap dresses; sheer blouses; and shifts detailed with ostrich feather plumes.
Founder: Maria “Nina” Ricci
Owner: Puig
Designer: Guillaume Henry, 2014
Year Established: 1932
Spring 2016 Inspiration: Actress Romy Schneider in the ‘70s and models from the ‘90s.
Star Pieces: The slightly off-the-shoulder, olive leather wrap dresses.
The Middle Eastern Sale: The V-neck leather wrap dresses will come in handy in case of an impromptu event.
Drawbacks: The apron dresses felt stiff, the crinkled material numbers were unflattering, and the autumnal palette wouldn’t be a winner in the region.
