Net-a-Porter hits the market…

Step aside, Amazon! The Yoox Group is also interested in purchasing Net-a-Porter. Both Yoox S.p.A. and Compagnie Financière Richemont SA, Net-a-Porter’s parent company, confirmed that discussions are currently under way between the two companies, however no further comment can be made at this stage. As far as fast fashion is concerned, research suggests Zara is the industry leader. The Spanish retailer has 1,923 stores in 88 countries, which translated to $12.6 billion in sales in 2014. Zara also accounts for 66 percent of the total company profits of its parent company, Inditex. [Forbes]
