Video: Native Purses’ Creative Director Shares an Important Message About Autism

UAE-based luxury accessories brand Native has unveiled a new handbag collection titled “Beauty Beyond the Obvious,” and has a first look at the heartfelt campaign video.

Narrated by Rachna Malkani—founder and creative director of Native—she shares the underlying themes behind the collection and the story of her personal experience as a mother of a child diagnosed with autism. A moon-shaped, sequin-embellished bag with embroidered motifs symbolizes peace, serenity, and motherhood. Meanwhile, a structured top handle tote featuring embroidered butterfly appliqués and crystal-encrusted roses touches on the power of love. Finally, a feather detailed handbag portrays an owl grasping a dream catcher to reflect the sleep related issues that those with autism endure.

“This collection looks at these kids with sheer amazement of their inner strength and beauty that makes them fight their own battles with themselves and the outer world,” shared Malkani. “It also pays ode to the spirit of parents and families who are in this journey with their kids that demands an unbelievable amount of inner strength for an endless amount of time—not to forget when the world gives you no hope to feel any different at times,” she emphasized.
