Global online men and women luxury fashion e-boutique, www.my-wardrobe.com, has just announced its newest appointment. Come January former British Harper’s Bazaar Senior Style Editor, Carmen Borgonovo, will officially shelve her years working with print magazines and dive into the world of e-commerce as Buying Director.
She will be charged with bringing in new brands and overseeing the seasonal buying strategy and development of the international brand portfolio. “I’ve edited so much over the last 20 years, thinking about what people want to buy, especially at Harper’s Bazaar on the shopping pages. And with the changing economy, magazine editors have had to think commercially. I’m going to spend the first three months at My-Wardrobe.com understanding the business before I develop a strategy. In a magazine, you really think about your reader and what they want; going into My-Wardrobe.com, I’ll really be thinking about who the customer is now and who I want to bring into the business, and how I’m going to do that.” Explained Borgonovo to WWD. Her credits include accessories director of W magazine, editor of W jewelry, and accessories editor of American Vogue.
