While Lebanese designer Elie Saab may be the “King of the Red Carpet,” Mohammed Ashi is proving to have some serious red carpet ambitions of his own. At last night’s BAFTA awards in London, the Saudi designer dressed English actress Laura Haddock in a greige tulle gown, leaving her looking like a princess alongside Hollywood heavyweights Julianne Moore and Reese Witherspoon.
Meanwhile, over in Beverley Hills at the pre-Grammy gala on Saturday, rapper Iggy Azalea wore a custom Ashi Studio off-white skirt that gathered at the waist for her performance with Jennifer Hudson. Director and producer Ava DuVernay, who won the award for Outstanding Motion Picture for Selma at the NAACP Image awards, chose a long-sleeved, high-low greige dress for the occasion.
