The birthplace of the Renaissance. Among the Cyprus trees, the Arno river, Botticelli paintings, and pasta al fagiolli, lies Florence, a land home to some of the world’s most skilled artisans. The Tuscan capital beholds a fashion history so rich that it superseded both Milan and Rome in the 50s and 60s. Fashion pioneer, Giovanni Battista Giorgini, held elaborate soirées where several now-famous Italian designers participated in some of the first Italian high fashion shows.
At this year’s Florence Fashion Week, the special guest and the most awaited fashion show will be Ermanno Scervino. On January 9th at 11pm UAE / 10pm KSA, live from the magnificent Hall of the Cinquecento in the Palazzo Vecchio, Style.com Arabia will exclusively feature the Men’s and Women’s Fall/Winter 2013 live stream for the Middle East.
This show titled, A Tribute to “Florence”, is certain to showcase a stunning homage to the city’s savoir fair. The renowned Italian designer, who is famous for his cutting edge designs and a 100% “Made in Italy” brand, opened his first Middle East boutique at The Dubai Mall in 2012. From expert craftsmanship of luxurious furs, to lightweight laser-cut leathers and cashmere, it will be interesting to see if any new techniques are introduced by the brand.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s exclusive interview with designer Ermanno Scervino in anticipation of Wednesday’s live stream.
