HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has recently revealed the members of the Dubai Design and Fashion Council, in his resolution No.20 for the year 2014.

The announcement reflects the objectives of the Council, as it aims to raise the profile of the emirate as a global design and fashion destination, to promote Dubai as a key industry hub while helping to attract companies to set up here, and developing the local pool of emerging talent.

Chaired by Dr Amina Al Rustamani, CEO of Tecom Investments group, the Dubai Design and Fashion Council’s members consist of a number of individuals, all experts in their respective fields of design and fashion, such as Lebanese fashion designer, Reem Acra, Egyptian jewelry designer, Azza Fahmy, and Patrick Chalhoub, Chairman of the Chalhoub group (who brought most of the LVMH brands to the region).
