Sneak Peek: Marni Fall 2014 Campaign Video

To the melodic sounds of rolling piano keys, the Marni Fall 2014 campaign is featured unwinding like a reel showcasing both the collection and “outsider art.” Coined by art critic, Roger Cardinal, in 1972 as a synonym for “art brut,” the term is meant to describe art that is created outside the boundaries of the established art scene. While such self-taught artists rarely have contact with the outside or mainstream world, Marni thrusts the work into the spotlight and features it sometimes on separate slides or as a prominent backdrop to the Fall 2014 collection, which includes Marni’s signature graphically printed and tailored coats, voluminous separates, and luxurious accessories consisting of fur stoles and scarves and leather gloves and bags. The collection is hypnotically juxtaposed against the backdrop of outsider art like 2D cutouts on a playful backsplash.
