The clothes were full of hippie grunge spirit and heavy with romance—gold lace, embroidered flowers and vines, silk fringe, frothy pink tulle—but Marchesa’s 10-year anniversary is not to be overlooked. The label has come a long way since its beginning in a studio on Archer Street (“a Soho afterthought frequented by hookers and drug dealers”). Style.com’s Tim Blanks was there to review the Spring ’15 show:

“How long is 10 years in fashion? Gareth Pugh and Proenza Schouler, to name just two other fashion entities, are also staring down the barrel of their second decade in business. But Marchesa’s success points to consistency of vision as a key factor in durability.”
