“Mademoiselle C”: Carine Roitfeld Hits the Big Screen

Carine Roitfeld, Vogue Paris’ editor-in-chief from 2001-2011, is back in the limelight, with a documentary dedicated to her life’s career as a fashion editor and stylist. And this time, her unconventional signature style will not only be available on the glossy paper of a magazine, but will actually hit the big screen in New York on September 11 and in London on September 20.

“I think you can always surpass yourself and I think I have that kind of energy, to find something that will make a certain image iconic,”stated Roitfeld, reputed for her irreverent, avant-garde take on fashion. The documentary, directed by Fabien Constant, was produced by the same company that previously set its lenses on Anna Wintour, narrating her daily life at American Vogue for “The September Issue”. The 93-minute film will take viewers through Roitfeld’s first steps — and struggles — during the production of her debut issue of CR Fashion Book, her recently founded publication.

As expected, the finest tastemakers of the luxury industry will be featured, including Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz, Tom Ford, Donatella Versace, and Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, to name a few. The 58-year-old Roitfeld will also give us a glimpse into her private life, as she will be spotted spending time with her daughter Julia Restoin Roitfeld and her newborn grandchild. Have a sneak preview of “Mademoiselle C” by watching this trailer.
