Louis Vuitton’s Most Expensive Bag Revealed

Louis Vuitton’s Most Expensive Bag

Just when you think you have it all, yet another exclusive arm candy hits the market. Meet Louis Vuitton’s most expensive handbag: a handcrafted alligator version of the City Steamer that comes with a price tag of US $55,500 (AED/SAR 203,852). Designed by creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, this sleek top handle tote features a monogram embellished nametag and an engraved padlock.

The French fashion house has previously released limited edition designs that were priced over US $100,000—the Coquille d’Oeuf Minaudière from the Spring 2012 collection and the gold and black resin Kusama Pumpkin Minaudière made in collaboration with renowned Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama—but these special collection pieces were not crafted from emblematic handbag materials.

If you don’t happen to have five figures lying around, you can always choose the equally sturdy and functional City Steamer version in smooth lambskin.
