London’s College of Fashion Comes to the Middle East

 lcfdubai2

From September 20 to October 1, the London College of Fashion (LCF) will come to the Middle East with workshops at the Vida Hotel in Downtown Dubai, aiming to give an intense glimpse into the fashion industry with courses taught by some of the College’s high-profile experts.

After previous stints in 2012 and early 2013, the LCF now proposes two brand new fashion short courses entitled “Fashion Drawing” and “Handbag Design”, alongside its regular program. The latter is an intense workshop for creative and entrepreneurial skills in accessory design, exploring fabrics and trends related to bags, purses, and wallets, as well as covering the process of producing and manufacturing a designer bag brand. The “Fashion Drawing” course teaches required techniques and styles for sketching, drawing, and coloring. The courses are taught by freelance illustrator Ana Stankovic-Fitzgerald (“Fashion Drawing”) and Ann Saunders (“Handbag Design”), consultant to Arcadia Group and British fashion and home-wear brand Laura Ashley.

Further innovative theoretical and practical courses such as “Styling Business Consultancy” taught by Polly Holman – an LCF tutor and past President of the Federation of Image Consultants – will also be on the schedule. Tailor-made trainings such as “Styling the Image”, a course for amateur-stylists keen to take their first steps, and “Fashion Marketing”, an in-depth analysis of the industry’s communication tools, will be available come February 2014.

Reservations can be made via phone or online on LCF’s website.
