Loewe

The Madrid-based brand that is known for its luxury leather goods featured a juxtaposition of man-made materials and rich fabrics for its Loewe Spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. Creative director Jonathan Anderson delivered combinations of transparent trousers with fine knits; croc-embossed pants styled with lightweight tops; and a see-through jacket and suede combo amid shattered mirror-like details and silver tinsel embellishments. There were also new PVC renditions of the signature puzzle handbag.

Founder: Enrique Loewe Roessberg

Owner: LVMH

Designer: Jonathan Anderson, 2014

Year Established: 1846

Spring 2016 Inspiration: Hard meets soft.

Star Pieces: A caramel, leather midi dress; a striking suede coat; and those shoulder bearing knit sweaters with sheer detail.

The Middle Eastern Sale: Despite the over-the-top showpieces, there were a number of smart and sophisticated separates.

Drawbacks: Materials such as suede can be heavy for the region’s hot climate. The overstated logo prints come across as garish.
