The leopard-print coat is nothing too new, but if both Nicolas Ghesquière and Miuccia Prada are endorsing it for Fall, you can bet it will be everywhere come September. At this morning, Ghesquière used the print for clothing and accessories, offering furry stoles, coats, and bags in addition to some streamlined patterned dresses and jackets. Meanwhile, at Miu Miu, Prada sent out dresses, blouses, shoes, and coats in the pattern in several colors—an acid shade of blue will be an instant favorite of Mrs. Prada’s It-girl-packed front row. Vuitton’s and Prada’s leopard outerwear don’t feel out of place in the general landscape of trends this season, with Raf Simons proposing an abstract tiger pattern at Dior and Phoebe Philo positing a bold zebra-stripe jacket at Céline. It’s oft been said that fashion week is a real zoo, and this season that’s actually proving true…in the chicest way possible, at least.
