Now in its sixth year, the upcoming Nuqat Creative Conference in Kuwait will address the “copy and paste syndrome” from multiple interactive angles. Lectures, workshops, cultural activities, and entertainment will all focus on how imitation can both inspire and undervalue creativity.
Launched in 2009 by Wakim Zeidan, Nuqat aims to fuel the creative dialogue in the region through multiple angles and creative fields, such as design, architecture, fashion, and advertising. This year, all 22 lectures and discussion panels, featuring regional and international specialists, will be free. The speakers include Kuwait-based artist Ghadah AlKandari; architect Tarek Naga; scholar and former associate curator at MoMA, Mitra Abbaspour; publisher of Kalimat Magazine, Danah Abdulla; and photographer Laura Boushnak.
In addition to the lectures, the seven-day conference will include a variety of activities, such as musical performances, poetry recitations, art exhibitions, and interactive workshops on product and jewelry design, photography, and visual storytelling.
The Nuqat Creative Conference will take place from November 12th to 18th. To register, visit www.nuqat.me.
