Lacoste

The French brand will once again dress France’s athletes for next year’s summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and accordingly, Felipe Oliveira Baptista presented a men’s and women’s collection that upheld peace, diversity, and national pride.

Founder: René Lacoste

Owner: Maus Frères, 2012

Designer: Felipe Oliveira Baptista, 2010

Year Established: 1933

Spring 2016 Inspiration: National flags and country pride.

Star Pieces: The preppy color blocking separates and deconstructed raincoats.

The Middle Eastern Sale: The olive green floor-grazing dress with drawstring waist and military pockets; the pinstriped dress with chic balloon sleeves; and the belted, oversized shirtdress will make elegant additions to your wardrobe long after Olympic season is over.

Drawbacks: If you felt that the croc logo was too blatantly recognizable for your tastes, then watch out for the loud LACOSTE labels sprayed all over half the collection. The metallic, lunar jumpsuits are jarring.
