Are you Team Kylie yet?

This might be the year for the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner tribe—excluding the grandkids, of course—to break out on her own as a bona fide star, just as her four sisters have done before her.

At 17, Kylie has a lot going for her. More than 16 million Instagram followers; a grill to rival Katy Perry’s; and she’s starting to look—quite naturally, she says—a lot like her older, most famous sister, Kim.

Still technically a high school student, Kylie is the last of her siblings to be fully optimized financially, as momager Kim Jenner might put it. (Even Rob’s sock line, Arthur George, is going strong. Really. Neiman Marcus stocks it.) While Kylie and supermodel sister Kendall moonlight as designers for teen retailer PacSun—and don’t forget about those colorful Kylie Hair Kouture extensions—there is so much more the baby of the family could do.

Like what? For one: cosmetics. Kylie is apparently a whiz at application, contouring her lips into a pillowy cloud. Why not start her collection with a lip pencil and brush, complemented by an “exclusive” app in which she shows you how it’s done? Another idea: micro shorts. Recently photographed grocery shopping in what looked like a denim diaper, Kylie could release a limited-edition line of denim cutoffs. There are so many other possibilities: a collaboration with Manic Panic—for those days when extensions just won’t do—maybe her own line with a fast-fashion retailer like Forever 21. And what the heck, why shouldn’t she record an album?

All of this, of course, will need to be accompanied by a fashion-world endorsement or two. She’s already landed a major magazine cover, but will the indies come calling? We don’t see why not, given her family history of wooing sartorial snobs. Kardashian lovers and haters alike: Brace yourselves for Kylie’s ascendance. She knows she has to make 2015 her year. North West is already gaining ground.
