Reality TV star, Kim Kardashian, keeps making headlines. Lately she has been in the spotlight for her relationship with rapper Kanye West and the subsequent birth of their baby, North West. Now, Kardashian is again making a buzz as the cover girl for the third issue of Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book.
On stands September 12th, the one-year anniversary issue reveals a fashion editorial with Kim Kardashian produced by fashion industry heavyweights, including Karl Lagerfeld, in the role of photographer; Riccardo Tisci, as art director; and Carine Roitfeld herself as stylist. A teaser showing Kardashian with a crystal-embroidered Maison Martin Margiela headpiece that was previously spotted on Kanye West already had us assuming that Kim might be the model behind the mask. On the actual cover, now unveiled Kim Kardashian shows off her shiny gold teeth—or, in other words, “Girlfriend is sporting grillz.”
Inside the magazine, the fashion story is entitled “Miss USA” and features a pregnant Kim Kardashian, styled in both moody black and white shots; in one picture, she even appears with jam smeared all over her face. “Pregnancy is something that I always love,” Carine Roitfeld told WWD. “It’s about hope and the future and a new baby,” she added on her decision to center her third issue’s theme around the theme of “Hope”.
The newest CR Fashion Book also features a fashion editorial with Karlie Kloss and a shoot with the star of Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines music video, Emily Ratajkowski, also styled and staged in Carine Roitfeld’s now famous, ever-provocative manner.
