The ongoing unrest in the Middle East has led to a mass displacement of Syrian refugees who have made long and dangerous trips to neighboring countries in search of a new home. The dire situation continues to worsen during the winter season with families and children enduring severe weather conditions.

Inspired by Dubai-based reputed PR agency The Qode’s fundraiser with the men’s jewelry brand Tateossian London to provide heating stoves and diesel fuel to over 100 Syrian refugee families in camps stationed in Eastern Lebanon, Kiehl’s Middle East is now also striving to make a difference. The beauty brand has partnered with the Solace Foundation, a non-profit Lebanese organization, to provide aid to the displaced families and children in Lebanon—who number over 1.5 million.

For every AED/SAR 200 spent at the Kiehl’s store at Dubai Festival City between January 10th to the 31st, the Kiehl’s “Shop for a Cause” initiative will donate a blanket to a child, while every AED/SAR 350 will ensure that thick socks, a hat, and a scarf is provided to a child via the non-profit organization, which is overseeing the charitable initiative. Here’s to 2016 being the year that our regional fashion industry supports our less fortunate.
