GQ’s new girl…
Kendall Jenner, following in the footsteps of older sister Kim Kardashian West, has been tapped to cover GQ’s May issue. The magazine revealed the image earlier today, as well as several racy shots from Jenner’s Steven Klein-lensed photo shoot. The accompanying story, which includes Jenner addressing the rumors about her father, will be available on GQ’s website tomorrow. [GQ]
Couture’s new additions…
There will be two new names on the couture calendar this July: Ulyana Sergeenko and Ilja. The Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture announced today that the two designers have been elected to show in Paris as guest members. Both have shown in Paris previously, though neither brand has been included on the official couture calendar. [WWD]
Being the Rykiel woman…
Julie de Libran, the designer at the helm of Sonia Rykiel, likes to dress women who embrace their individuality. “Each has different strengths, different beauty, a different character, but each follows her passion,” de Libran said of her Rykiel muse. The French-born, California-raised designer has been the artistic director at the label for two seasons and understands its Parisian aesthetic, explaining that she likes “that this house’s attitude is feminine and sexy.” [The Edit]
Louboutin doesn’t look down…
It may sound surprising, but in a recent interview, Christian Louboutin revealed that when he first meets a person, he never looks at his or her shoes. “I look at their eyes and face and assess their voice. It’s more exciting to imagine what shoe they would wear,” the designer explained, adding, “I’m usually wrong.” [The Evening Standard]
