Issa

For his second offering as the creative director of Issa, Jamie O’Hare (who had already spent two years at Issa as the head of design) struck a balance between the brand’s signature floaty cocktail dress (as would be presumably favored by the likes of the Duchess of Cambridge who was an early champion of the brand) and contemporary tailoring. The Issa Spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection featured many easy outfits in an eye-catching palette of midnight blue, light citrus, white, and black, which should help to put the brand back on track commercially.

Founder: Daniella Helayel

Owner: Camilla Al-Fayed, 2011

Designer: Jamie O’Hare, 2015

Spring 2016 Inspiration: Sophisticated sensuality.

Star Pieces: The opening white coat with silver embellishments; the soft lime eyelet dress; the black backless jumpsuit; and the cobalt blue, high-low dress with a two-tiered skirt.

The Middle Eastern Sale: This collection serves easy, elegant pieces with a punch that will turn heads.

Drawbacks: While we do love a good print, the floating space donut is not one that our ladies will be particularly drawn to.
