Fashion Forward organizers have revealed a packed schedule of talks featuring high-profile regional and international fashion industry guests. Huda Kattan and her sister Mona will give a talk, “Building a Brand, the Huda Beauty Story,” on Thursday, October 22nd at 3pm. With nearly seven million Instagram followers, Huda Kattan is one of the world’s most influential beauty bloggers.
On Friday, October 23rd at 4:30pm, the Global President of M.A.C Cosmetics, Karen Buglisi Weiler, will discuss providing backstage artistry at over 850 global fashion shows, student educational programs, and designer product collaborations. Renowned fashion photographer and blogger, Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist, will also attend and will give a talk on Saturday, October 24th at 4:30pm. “I’m looking forward to coming back to Dubai. My previous visit piqued my curiosity so I look forward to visiting again and spending more time in such a rapidly evolving city,” he stated. Finally, The Business of Fashion founder and CEO Imran Amed will also speak on Saturday at 7:30pm.
This edition of the D3 Fashion Talks will include “Accessories: The Next Big Thing” with the GM of Tryano, Chalhoub Group, Hamdi Kulahcioglu; Shourouk Rhaiem of Shourouk; and Nadine Kanso of Bil Arabi. The talk will be moderated by Style.com/Arabia’s Editor-in-Chief, Sofia Guellaty, on Thursday, October 22nd at 6pm.
A workshop on fashion styling for today’s media will be held by John William of the London College of Fashion on Friday, October 23rd at 1:30pm. On Saturday at 1:30pm, Barbara Trebitsch of the Domus Academy will give a talk, “Designing to Sell: Balancing Creativity with Commerciality.” Muriel Piaser will give a talk on Sunday at 11am on trade shows and entering the international marketplace. Khulood Thani of Bint Thani will give a talk, “The Architecture of Fashion,” moderated by May Barber of The cARTel on Sunday at 2pm. The workshop “Reflecting Heritage in Design” will also be held on Sunday at 3:30pm. Finally, digital influencers Mahmoud Sidani, Anum Bashir, and Nadya Hasan will discuss the blogging business, specifically, how to engage with influencers on Sunday at 5pm.
