Reputed for its ‘Carré’ silk scarves, an iconic Hermès’ accessory, the French Maison has launched an iPhone and iPad app called Hermès Silk Knots to highlight its signature four-squared scarf. Silk Knots is the brand’s first app.
The new app features twenty ‘Hermès Knotting Cards’ that showcase how to wear the current Fall 2013 ‘Carré’ designs. It also presents six step-by-step videos that show how to tie unconventional, yet elegant knots—such as the ‘Turban’ and the ‘Pirate’, for headwear—as well as how to create accessories, like a small Hobo bag.
Since its creation in 1937, the Carré scarf has been edited in a multitude of designs, including capsule collections by reputed fashion designers such as Rei Kawakubo, founder of Comme des Garçons. Via its Carré d’Artiste initiative, Hermès also regularly invites contemporary artists to customize its silk scarves.
