Paris once again played host to an extraordinary jewelry showcase during Haute Couture Spring 2016 Fashion Week. Storied jewelry and high fashion houses unveiled exceptional luxury jewelry collections featuring rare stones set in intricate designs. Chanel paid homage to its signature diamond quilted pattern with a 48-piece Signature de Chanel collection, which features rings, cuff bracelets, jewelry watches and necklaces set with diamonds, sapphires, and Tahitian pearls. Meanwhile, French jewelry maison Boucheron showcased striking animal-inspired pieces such as swan cuff diamond bracelets, fish amethyst drop earrings, gemstone hummingbird rings, and a statement python wraparound diamond pave bracelet. Versace Fine Jewellery in partnership with Dubai-based jewelry company Samra International, dreamed up elaborate sets featuring cascading diamonds, art deco shapes set with precious gemstones and multi-row diamond pave rings. While Dior presented a colorful collection that explored deconstructed floral compositions set with a kaleidoscope of gems. Other noteworthy collections includes Chopard’s vivid designs featuring butterflies and floral motifs, De Beers’ jaw-dropping mosaic necklace made with over 2,000 trillion-cut diamonds, and Sabine Getty’s colorful line of zigzag jewelry, which took inspiration from the Memphis Group—an Italian design and architecture firm founded in the ‘80s and known for its pop art themes.
