New York-based DJ and socialite Harley Viera-Newton just let the cat out of the bag and revealed her new collaboration with Diane Von Furstenberg, designed for the upcoming Christmas holidays.
Together, they have created two limited edition products, a woman’s evening purse and headphones, both adorned with a print of Viera-Newton’s beloved black cat, Marmite. The so-called Circle Fetish Cat Clutch (US $395) features hand-beaded crystals and pink thread embroidery, while the Cat Headphone (US $95) has a cat-shaped remote control.
“I am so honored to share this collaboration with DVF!” stated Viera-Newton, who DJed the after-party for the DVF Spring 2013 Runway Show in New York. “Diane is so iconic, so talented, and so much fun—I can’t think of a better introduction to the design process.”
The collaboration also includes a short film inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Styled by Natalie Joos and filmed in Viera-Newton’s apartment, the short film features her closest friends and family, such as New York’s infamous creative duo, Andrew & Andrew.
Cats seem to be in trend currently: last month, Karl Lagerfeld revealed an accessory line inspired by his pampered cat, Choupette.
