After winning the Sauce Design a Dress competition in 2010, Hamda Al Fahim, who has a degree in interior design, has gone on to gather a cult following thanks to her romantic gowns. Known for her detailed designs, delicate embroidery, and feminine aesthetic, the Abu Dhabi-based designer has collaborated with the high-end department store Bloomingdale’s Dubai to stock her Fall 2015 collection. The Emirati designer drew inspiration from the Disney film Frozen’s ice queen, Elsa, for her newest collection, comprising an icy blue and mint green palette of lace gowns and structured silhouettes. Al Fahim also explored the art of chinoiserie through her line by way of heavily embellished dresses.
