Looks like filming the new Star Wars and Hunger Games movies isn’t keeping actress Gwendoline Christie busy enough. Christie, famous for her role of Brienne of Tarth on HBO’s Game of Thrones, took two turns on the Vivienne Westwood runway today in Paris—though you mightn’t have recognized her underneath the show’s abstract hair and makeup. The actress first appeared in a gray suit, black overcoat, and giant hat (the successor to Westwood’s famed Buffalo style, perhaps?), later returning to the runway in a black dress with patterned leggings and high boots.
Westwood’s choice to cast Christie might be unexpected, but it does make sense. Christie has been playing a tough female warrior on TV for years, and what are Westwood’s women if not empowered female fighters of the modern age?
