At the Givenchy men’s ready-to wear Fall 2015 presentation during Paris Men’s Fashion Week, Riccardo Tisci gave us a glimpse of the long-awaited womenswear couture on the runway. Since then, rumors have abounded that an actual return of Givenchy couture might be in the cards.
Model Greta Varlese walked her first runway show and opened the haunting 11-piece couture collection. Sheer dresses with abstract prints, along with glimmering slip gowns that carried the dark and dramatic theme of the men’s line, were part of the capsule collection.
Could this mean that Tisci will bring back couture to the fashion week schedule? Givenchy couture took a backseat after its halt at the end of 2012. Since then, Tisci has taken on special projects, such as designing bespoke couture pieces (including Kim Kardashian’s wedding dress) for a select number of famous names.
If the rumors are true, this could mean good news for other (less famous) clients that have long been devoted to Givenchy’s creations.
