Gigi Hadid and Michael Kors Get Competitive, and More of Today’s News

Game on…

Gigi Hadid and Michael Kors battled it out in the first edition of Michael Kors’ Glamour Games. In a Pictionary-esque competition, the pair took turns drawing answers to questions they were asked. And here’s what we learned: The social-media-savvy model thinks Instagram is the best invention from the last 100 years and counts pasta as her guilty pleasure, while Kors believes Daniel Craig should play him in a movie and thinks trenchcoats are the most underrated fashion item. Gucci’s new art star…

London artist Helen Downie found fame by posting images of her paintings on Instagram, and her account, Unskilled Worker, now boasts 184,000 followers. Earlier this year, the artist was invited to attend Gucci’s Fall 2015 fashion show, where she met creative director Alessando Michele and was subsequently asked to create four paintings for the fashion house. “Alessandro’s work is magical; it makes me want to create, create as a response to his vision,” Downie explained. A piece of her work now hangs in Michele’s office. [T]

IE x Superdry…

Idris Elba launched his first collection for Superdry in London today. The British actor explained that he is proud of the versatility of his line and its ability to transition from day to night. “You can wear it in the morning and you’ll probably end up at work; and you’ll probably end up at dinner later on and you can still wear it. That’s the idea behind it. It’s pretty simple, it’s comfortable to wear, it’s easy.” But will it make you look as handsome as Elba? That’s the real question. [WWD]

The smart bikini…

From watches to jewelry, it seems every new product entering the market of late has some kind of technological element—and now even swimwear is receiving an interactive upgrade. Spinali Design has created a bathing suit with built-in sensors that measure temperature. The sensors gauge when it is time to reapply sunscreen and in turn send a reminder message to your cell phone. The company has also created a towel with similar capabilities. [Glamour]
