In a bid to recreate the high impact beauty looks spotted on the Spring 2016 ready-to-wear runways (Giambattista Valli and Maison Margiela in particular), I began to foil my eyeshadows—a trick that calls for a wet makeup brush.
Using water or a setting spray, I dampened my brush before picking up the pigment and packing it onto my eyelids. This stealthy move ensures long lasting eye makeup with serious shine. Naturally, I was thrilled when the new crop of metallic foil eyeshadows landed on my beauty desk. Foil eyeshadows are highly pigmented, smudge-resistant cream or powder formulas that use wet/dry technology, which means that you can choose between a subtle, shimmery finish (dry) or a more intense, metallic finish (wet). However, that’s not the best part. Luminous eye makeup can be worn at any time and any place—whether you’re looking to add a touch of polish to your everyday look, or amp up the glamour of your evening ensemble.
