Fatema Fardan Ramadan Capsule Collection

Following Fatema Al Fardan’s Fall 2015 New York showing, the designer has launched her first Ramadan collection—exclusively produced for Symphony boutique. Here, she introduces an endowed hand that must have been on hiatus ahead of her New York show. The four pieces produced for Ramadan feature hand-painted watercolor floral details—reminding of the stunning full-bloom backdrop from her New York presentation.

“Painting is my hobby,” Al Fardan explained to Style.com/Arabia. “While studying in London, around this time of the year, roses and peonies would bloom in Hyde Park. I would paint them during my free time—and I took these works and had them digitally printed.” Silks interlaid with lace featured beautiful, hand-painted florals that sometimes merged with geometric lines printed in a childlike fashion. “It’s all done in a haphazard way, where some prints are not equal to others—it’s meant to be unique, just like women,” explained the designer. A floral coat, crafted from printed guipure lace, presented a rich palette of off-white, rose pink, sky blue, and soft green, to display spring’s ephemeral blooms and equally refreshing—Al Fardan’s uninhibited talent.
