EXCLUSIVE: New App Speeds Up Spring 2015 Shopping

spring1
As the current fashion calendar stands, we see Spring clothes on the runways in September and can’t buy them until months and months later. It’s an age-old problem that more than a few industry insiders have tried to solve. This season, the team behind the newly launched shopping app Spring (which is backed by the likes of Michael Ovitz and Andrew Rosen) has taken a stab at bringing its customers the opportunity to instantly buy directly from the runways. Many of those limited-edition pieces will be available to order immediately after the final catwalker leaves the runway, and have at your doorstep just days later.

“For Spring, it’s the opportunity to invite customers to participate in NYFW in a unique way,” says Spring cofounder Ara Katz. “Whether it’s purchasing a one-of-a-kind shoe from Oscar de la Renta, Tanya Taylor, or Thakoon, or a limited-edition tee from Misha Nonoo or Libertine, we’re making the experience of fashion week accessible and immediately shoppable.”

Perhaps most noteworthy are the artist and designer collaborations on offer. Misha Nonoo collaborated with artist Dustin Yellin on a limited-edition T-shirt ($175) that will be for sale exclusively via Spring. And Marcia Patmos worked with artist Ryan McGinness on limited-edition T-shirts and bags for her new M.Patmos collection that will be available for purchase on the app. Additionally, it’s enlisted designers like Oscar de la Renta, Veronica Beard, Suno, Libertine, and Prabal Gurung to participate with shoes, sunglasses, hats, and more.

Here, an exclusive first look at some of the pieces that will be available on the app starting this week.
