Ahead of their on-schedule September 6th ready-to-wear catwalk show during New York Fashion Week Spring 2014, Sheikha Noor Al Khalifa and Sheikha Haya Al Khalifa spoke exclusively to Style.com/Arabia and provided the above sketch and swatches as a preview to their soon-to-be revealed collection.
ON THE COLLECTION
We were inspired to look at the natural beauty in the world so we have incorporated floral and leaf prints into this collection that are enhanced with lace panels, floral appliques, and ornate embellishments.
ON FABRICS AND COLOR
Silk features throughout the collection and is one of our go-to fabrics every season.
For Resort, we used pink lambskin leather for a pair of culottes and a frill top, so this season we’ve continued with colored leather, but this time we’re using purple. We have also worked with beautiful lace and produced some pieces with lace and leather combinations for the first time.
ON THE SPRING 2014 WOMAN
The Spring 2014 woman is aware of her fun, playful side, which she shows through the way she mixes clashing prints and experiments with silhouettes and color.
