In an attempt to clear a muddled mind, people are known to listen to “white noise”—a sort of meditative, soothing reverberation that can improve concentration, sleep, and study. Lili.Aiya’s “Whitespace” capsule—the third by Iraqi partners Maryam Solati and Noor Salih—has a similar effect on the eyes. The tightly edited collection featuring 3D exposed pockets, geometric inserts, and clean-cut panels in a pure color palette first launched at Bloomingdale’s, along with Ascia AKF. It is featured here in the newly shot lookbook and the only accessory to the striking clothes are the model’s limbs whitewashed to look as if she just got back from a sprint in Egypt’s chalk rock Farafra desert.
Though some might consider this label’s signature to be “edgy” due to its sharp angles and monochrome palette, Lili.Aiya doesn’t have a rebel heart—hers is a pure one, and this collection harks to something more imposing than a woman’s naked skin—her spirit.
