House of Nomad’s Evolution From Sport to Sophisticate

If the duo behind the Dubai-based House of Nomad label first caught our eye with sports-luxe, neoprene, sand-hued separates, the Spring 2016 collection —whose lookbook photos are exclusively revealed today on Style.com/Arabia—signals a dramatic evolution from sports chic to streamlined sophisticate. “As our market grew, women would ask about dresses and skirts and men about more classic cuts,” explained Ahmed El Sayed and Saleh Al-Banna.

The duo took the demand and translated it to tailored jumpsuits for men, empire waist dresses, and embellished waistcoats for women—and all in neoprene, jersey, and linen. The palette of pastel hues of blush pink, baby blue, and lemon yellow soothes, while a few navy blue numbers underline its inspired elegance. Perhaps to drive that new notion home, the designers feature the model against a backdrop of stacked stones—possibly an unknowing nod to the intended “built to last” nerve of this new style direction. “When we were conceptualizing the Spring 2016 collection, we wanted to look at the future and the bigger picture,” concluded the designers.

The House of Nomad Spring 2016 collection “Earth and Sky” will be available at Bloom, Harvey Nichols Riyadh, Lati, Little Boutique, Sauce, The Luxury Arcade, and West L.A.
