Exclusive: Discover the Mochi Spanish Collection

Within two years of its launch, designer Ayah Tabari’s brand Mochi has garnered a global following and captured the attention of It girls Cara and Poppy Delevingne, Leandra Medine (of Man Repeller blog fame), and model Gigi Hadid. The Palestinian designer has come to be known for her signature use of ethnic embroideries and handcrafted textiles that reflect the cultural aspects of the destinations that inspire the Mochi collections.

For her latest offering, the Dubai-based designer drew inspiration from her childhood vacations spent in Spain. She unveiled the collection at Mochi’s first-ever runway show, held at the One & Only The Palm’s courtyard. Tabari took a romantic approach with flamenco-inspired ruffled hem skirts; voluminous off-the-shoulder tops and gowns featuring billowing sleeves; and bandeau tops styled with A-line shorts and trumpet skirts in a vivacious palette. Floral and bird motif patterns were created using Spanish manila embroidery techniques. The designer styled the outfits with seed bead statement earrings in a variety of colors.

The collection is ultra feminine with a selection of brightly colored, daywear separates, and a few numbers that could seamlessly transition into eveningwear.
