Storied Italian House Bottega Veneta, whose name literally translates from Italian to “Venetian shop,” is celebrating its 50-year anniversary (and 15 years since the appointment of its creative director Tomas Maier) with a larger-than-life exhibition set to launch in Dubai this month. Behind the Intrecciato iterates Maier’s vision to continue to push the brand to the forefront of contemporary functionality, while remaining steadfast to its principles of sourcing the highest quality materials and the most skilled craftsmen to weave the house’s renowned intrecciato method—a signature technique of plaiting leather developed in the late ‘60s.
To fully immerse guests in the history of the House renowned for its discreet and timeless design ethos, the ephemeral exhibition will welcome visitors to literally walk through three colossal bags—Bottega Veneta’s signature Knot clutch, the Veneta, and Cabat (the first bag Maier designed for the House). While perusing the various multi-media installations, an artisan will handcraft bags on site. After your visit, all you’ll only need to know is that the Bottega Veneta Dubai Mall boutique is on the ground level and to the right.
Bottega Veneta “Behind the Intrecciato” at the Dubai Mall (Fashion Avenue) from February 18th to 27th.
