Designer Isaac Manevitz, whose fine jewelry brand, Ben-Amun, is a favorite among A-listers, made a visit to Kuwait this week to introduce his “Maharaja” jewelry collection designed exclusively for Harvey Nichols Kuwait. Drawing inspiration from pearl diving, the opulent collection stands out for its combinations of pearls, jewel stones, and tassels. “I decided to create a pearl collection exclusively for Kuwait because pearl diving is deeply embedded in its history and culture,” Manevitz told Style.com/Arabia. “I enjoy working with pearls because they are very feminine, rich, and happy, and I want every woman who wears my jewelry to feel great.”
The New-York based designer, who was born and raised in Egypt, further explained that the combination of pearls and imperial colors, such as ruby, turquoise, and amethyst, works well and gives the collection a noble touch while the tassels add movement. “When a piece of jewelry moves, it becomes alive and seductive.”
