Sparkling Diamonds Extravaganza

Al-Noor Jewelry Collection by Rosmundo GiarlettaDubai International Jewellery Week has begun and promises a bold line-up of regional and international manufacturers, until December 8th, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

Throughout the four-day event, more than 360 exhibitors from over 30 countries will showcase the latest trends and designs of precious and semi-precious stones, as well as unique fine jewelry pieces.

For this occasion, Indian conglomerate, Lucky Stone Jewellery, has created a bespoke gold headpiece named A Bird’s Eye View of Palm Jumeirah, inspired by the artificial archipelago. “Taking inspiration from the pride of the Emirates, we have tried to immortalize Palm Jumeirah in an intricate jewel piece that we hope will amaze everyone,” said Shadab Asif Supariwala, CEO of Lucky Stone Jewellery.

The piece is studded with a range of natural stones, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, black diamonds, and champagne diamonds, from which Supariwala said that they are being “true to the country [UAE] that always manages to wow the world with its ever-evolving grandeur.”

Italian high jewelry designer Rosmundo Giarletta also pays homage to the Middle East with the introduction of the Al-Noor necklace. Crafted with diamonds and gold, the piece is said to illustrate the figurative honeycomb technique, inspired by Islamic paradise, as mentioned in the Holy Quran.

This evening, the Jewelry Design Awards will celebrate young jewelry designers at the Kempinski hotel. GIA Middle East, the regional arm of the international gemology authority, will manufacture a prototype of the winning pieces for display at the National Institute of Vocational Education.
