Emerging designer, Amira Haroon, is launching a 2014 Ramadan collection at Harvey Nichols Dubai July 1st. Speaking with Style.com/Arabia, Haroon explained that the Mediterranean ocean, its picturesque coastline, and rich nature inspire her collection. “Summers for everyone around the globe are all about a warm, heady musk of flowers and the want for a calming shade and breeze to cool us down and drown our minds in a mid-summer night’s dream,” commented the designer wistfully.
“The villages along the Mediterranean coastline celebrate this, from their beautifully painted houses, to the rustic but colorful furniture, and the beauty of nature in the sea and flowers surrounding them,” she added, emphasizing that her collection’s “summertime feeling” is expressed through a color palette that comprises cool shades of soft pastel hues and nonchalantly cut dresses crafted from light fabrics such as silk, lace, and organza.
Amira Haroon is a Parsons Paris alumni and Dubai-based designer who launched her ready-to-wear label for women in 2010. Haroon’s designs are recognizable for their vintage-inspired aesthetics and focus on craftsmanship. Her 10-piece Ramadan 2014 collection will be exclusively launched at Harvey Nichols Dubai on July 1st, as part of a curated mix of seven regional designers, who have all created special Ramadan collections.
