It’s official. After WWD rumored him to take over the role of Guest Designer at Versus earlier this Autumn, Anthony Vaccarello just confirmed that he created a capsule collection for Versace’s curated second line, which will make its debut in 2014.
The Belgian-Italian designer, who showcases his eponymous womenswear brand in Paris, will thus follow the path of J.W. Anderson and M.I.A., who each guest designed one collection for Versus earlier this year.
On both his Twitter and Instagram accounts, Vaccarello revealed a picture of him and Donatella Versace posing with the Versus logo in the background, and said that he was “so proud” of his new appointment.
According to Vogue.com, Vaccarello said that Donatella Versace was confident about his collection and that she told him “that there are no limits; [that] she trusts me [him] to see it through my [his] eyes.”
“These days, everyone is inspired by what the house of Versace did, so I want to bring Versus close to where it started, to work with its most emblematic codes,” the designer added.
