Only three days to go until the launch of the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience at the Dubai Mall. Amongst the anticipated young designer catwalk shows and fashion events, hosted by Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Emaar Properties and Vogue Italia’s Editor-in-Chief, Franca Sozzani, another Italian fashion industry icon will surely cause some ink to flow.
Donatella Versace will be in Dubai during the event and is due to make an appearance in the Mall’s three Versace boutiques. She also confirmed her attendance at the event’s fund-raising gala dinner on October 10th, which will feature fashion designers, Middle Eastern and international celebrities, and an auction. The proceeds from the auction will go to the Dubai Cares charity.
In an interview with Arabian Business, Gian Giacomo Ferraris, CEO of Versace, commented: “We need a voice that is able to coordinate the energy and give the distinction of the brand. Donatella is our creative mind, so her involvement is total, which means that not a single piece exits to the customer without the physical approval of Donatella. She has a team, but she has 100 percent power to decide.”
