Under an elegant floral pergola featuring tumbling flowers assembled by event organizers The Qode, 100 VIP guests invited by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana gathered for a private dinner at the Park Hyatt Dubai this past weekend. The tables didn’t fail to impress—fruits poured out of silverware and a delicate, multi-course Italian menu of aubergine purées and sea bass was served. Following a short welcome speech by Patrick Chalhoub accompanied by his wife, Ingie, guests decked out in floral and Roman prints from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2014 collection sat down for an evening under the Dubai moonlight.
Domenico and Stefano entertained their guests with stories about how lovely Kate Upton is and their encounter with their first muse and longtime collaborator, Dutch supermodel Marpessa Hennik, who was also in attendance, wearing a fully embroidered short column dress. Meanwhile, the Dolce & Gabbana team who flew in from Milan also had the opportunity to learn more about Khaleeji culture in a more intimate way.
