The Kuwaiti cool kids turned out en masse for the launch of the Denim Room, a stand-alone concept store in Shuwaikh Market that wouldn’t look out of place in New York’s SoHo neighborhood. Denim Room is the second fashion store owned by Dana Al Khobaizi, who explained that she wanted to bring on-trend brands from U.S. and make them accessible to an emerging local army of fashion-forward trendsetters.
To every denim lover’s delight, the shelves were well-stocked with brands like Current Elliot, Siwy, Victoria Beckham, and Iro, alongside other desirable hand-selected casuals. Tongue-in-cheek T-shirts laid beside an assortment of leather separates to make up the rest of the eye candy.
As the lines for the dressing room grew longer, guests chatted away about their pending purchases and the all too familiar trials and tribulations of finding the perfect pair of jeans. As an array of sweet treats were passed around, the DJ spun some tunes that even produced a little foot-tapping from the plaid mafia. Brilliant.
