The Perfect Mix of Beauty and Brains From Clinique and TED

While the majority of us scramble to get in as much beach time as possible before fall, Clinique and TED are focusing on a different goal: to find the next game-changing idea. From now until September 30, the two brands are inviting women to channel their inner Sara Blakely (the founder of Spanx) and submit a brief, engaging proposal at One winning concept will be chosen, and the genius behind it will score $20,000 in funding to bring their vision to life, as well as an invite to schmooze at the 2016 TED conference. While the entries pour in, Clinique is turning the spotlight on three women from the TED community as part of its Smart Women series. A video featuring one of these courageous ladies, director Erin Bagwell, was shown last night at the premiere of Meryl Streep’s new movie, Ricki and the Flash. Clinique sponsored the screening and took advantage of the captive audience to share Bagwell’s message about feminism and entrepreneurship. Now that’s how you work a room.
