Following ten years of research and formulation, Clarins has launched the new Clarins Boosters (US $39; AED/SAR 143)—a trio of ultra concentrated treatments that aim to limit long term effects of the summer sun and supercharge your skin.

WHAT ARE THEY?

Similar to serums, the boosters boast ingredients so potent they shouldn’t be applied directly to the skin, but rather should be applied in conjunction with your moisturizer, mask, serum, or foundation. The products come in vivid blue (Booster Repair), green (Booster Detox), and orange (Booster Energy) bottles topped with a golden cap. The new range invites you to pick and choose a product based on your skincare needs for a more personalized beauty routine.

MY EXPERIENCE

Eager to try the products when they landed on my desk, I tested them over a two-week period, and I was sure to use a different booster each day as they’re not meant to be used together. I squeezed a dollop of my daily moisturizer onto my palm before adding four drops of my preferred booster, and massaged the formula onto my skin. If I was heading out, I’d apply foundation on top. However, the only product that really stood out for me was the Booster Detox. The product—which harnesses green coffee to restore a dull complexion and purify congested skin—seemed to suck the toxins out of my pores, leaving my complexion noticeably brighter and more refreshed by morning. It didn’t leave my skin feeling oily, and I didn’t break out (which is always a plus point). This product is a must-have for anyone with congested skin, and will benefit those exposed to smokey environments, air conditioners, or pollutants on a daily basis.
