This July, the 21, Place Vendôme doors of the Elsa Schiaparelli Maison will reopen for the first time since its rebirth and the “grand couturier” Monsieur Christian Lacroix has been chosen to create a unique couture tribute. Monsieur Lacroix will pay homage to Schiaparelli with 15 pieces in what will be a very personal interpretation of the designer’s creations.
“In this persona, incarnating a true aristocrat, one finds a spirit where mathematics and literature as well as poetry coexist: Elsa is a sacred sphinge who never ceases to interrogate us while offering us new enigmas as answers. Art, theatre and cinema… my wish is to reposition Elsa at the center of her Maison and on the stage from which she once seduced the world.”

Following this homage during Paris Haute Couture week in July, a long series of various artist contributions will take place at the Schiaparelli Maison. An annual rendez-vous will invite leading names in the contemporary art world to give their interpretation of Elsa Schiaparelli.
As Monsieur Lacroix returns to couture, the industry continues to speculate who will be appointed at the head of the Maison’s ready-to-wear line with designer Marco Zanini of Rochas the latest designer rumored to be named Creative Director.
