Child’s Play: Dumyé

Screen Shot 2013-10-22 at 6.53.04 PMFew visitors of Fashion Forward’s exhibition space, The Garden, missed the Dumyé stall. Unlike neighboring stalls featuring jewelry, bags, shoes, and other designer wares, Dumyé showcased dolls; and visitors, parents or otherwise, were enthralled. While Dumyé is already a niche and known brand in Dubai, Founder, Sahar Wahbeh’s talent and ultimate objective of spreading love to less fortunate children through her bespoke dolls is a story that deserves to be told.

Dumyé dolls, with their personalized dresses and dainty features, go a lot further than your child’s arms—with each doll purchased, an orphan is given an opportunity to make their own doll through an art workshop. “Dumyé has come to be a way for me to share with my daughter what she most needs to know: marry your passions with your life’s work, find the courage to fulfill your potential, respect Mother Nature, show compassion for your fellow man, and understand that the real gift in life is giving.” explained Wahbeh.

Made with “karmic goodness” and eco-friendly materials.
