In the wake of the deadly terror attacks that took place last week, legendary singer Céline Dion paid an emotional tribute to the victims at the American Music Awards 2015. The five-time Grammy award winner, accompanied by a live orchestra and a video montage of Parisian landmarks in the background, moved the audience with a heartfelt rendition of Edith Piaf’s Hymne à L’amour. Dion stunned in a black sateen, floor-length halter dress with an open back and skinny belt signed Elie Saab Fall 2015 Couture. The skirt of the dress featured a scattering of beautiful peony flowers, which swirled gracefully as Dion spun around to face the screen during her powerful performance.
Oscar winning actor and the lead vocalist for Thirty Seconds to Mars, Jared Leto, introduced Dion saying, “Tonight, we honor the victims of the unimaginable violence that took place in Paris and around the world. France matters. Russia matters. Mali matters. Syria matters. The Middle East matters. The United States matters. The entire world matters, and peace is possible.”
