Increasingly, Middle East traditional garments are experiencing something of a “boomerang” effect. Abayas, overlays, and headscarves inspire Western designers who parlay them into novel designs, which are then snapped up by our regional boutiques. In this vein, and following a stellar debut in the region, Danish brand Cecilie Copenhagen, signed Cecilie Jorgensen, has collaborated with Boutique 1 to produce a capsule featuring the Keffiyeh print—a checkered scarf, which is generally worn as a headdress—and translated it onto an exclusive capsule of maxi dresses and kimonos.
